What we’re doing:
We are so excited to announce the launch of MOFAD City, a new series of programs in May & June, about the global nature of New York City's cuisines by neighborhood. The very first MOFAD City event kicks off Thursday May 5th with the neighborhood of Crown Heights! Join us as we explore Central Brooklyn's Caribbean culture, and how the area maintains it's character in the face of gentrification. ??Also coming up: Polish Cuisine, Chinatown eats, Himalayan in Jackson Heights, & more! Check out the rest of the neighborhoods we'll be focusing on at www.programs.mofad.org. #FoodIsCulture (Many thanks to @nyculture in partnership with the City Council for your support of MOFAD City! ??)
Tuesday: London chef Margot Henderson is taking over the Four Horsemen in Williamsburg this Tuesday and Wednesday.
Margot’s dinner marks the launch of a new event series called “The Fifth Horseman,” where The Four Horsemen will host some of their favorite neighborhood restaurants and wine bars around the world. Reservations recommended.
Thursday: MOFAD has organized a talk on the Caribbean influence of Central Brooklyn’s cuisine at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum as part of their new MOFAD City series. We’ll be live tweeting—see you there!
Friday: Learn how to tend to a SCOBY at Kombucha 101, led by Hannah Crum, author of The Big Book of Kombucha.
Sunday: Start your foraging adventures this Sunday in Central Park, guided by “Wildman” Steve Brill.
Coming up: May 26 is the annual Brooklyn Uncorked event, for all the wine lovers in the city. The first Food Loves Tech is happening in June, and you will definitely want to attend this expo on the future of food. Headed out East in August? Don’t miss our Food Truck Derby. Even if you’re not planning to be out there, it’s worth the trip.

Who we’re following:
In Prospect Heights, Citrico has some of the best fish tacos around. In case you haven’t been, they have a long menu with staple and top-notch Mexican ingredients. We can’t wait to try more.
Similar to Dock to Dish’s fish burger currently on the menu at Seamore’s in the city, Park Slope’s Prawn Shop serves “sea dogs” composed of perfectly delicious fish cuts that would otherwise go to waste. We’re looking forward to trying for ourselves.
