Like the waistline of a beer loon who can’t curb their excessive consumption of canned Cronuts, Brooklyn’s beer scene continues to grow. The founders of Randolph Beer, which has locations in Williamsburg and NoLita, are bringing their restaurant and bar to DUMBO and this time they’ve added a brewery.

It’s the largest of the group, occupying a sprawling 7,500-square-foot space at 77 Sands Street. Like the others, the setting is industrial with rustic touches. The menu of gastropub fare also copies what’s served in Williamsburg and NoLita, with bar snacks, burgers, vegetable dishes and pastas. But unlike Randolph’s previous iterations, the bar’s rotating taps will not only feature selections from breweries its staff admires, such as Other Half and Hill Farmstead, but also brewed-on-site suds. The head brewer is J. R. Jordan, a former cellar manager at Brooklyn Brewery.

An opening date has not yet been set, but the brewpub will offer a special behind-the-scenes tour ($35) from 6:30-9:00 p.m. this Thursday evening, guided by beer expert and writer Joshua M. Bernstein. It will be Bernstein and event planner’s second time leading a sneak peek of a soon-to-open brewery in Brooklyn this month; the first time was last Saturday, of Five Boroughs Brewing Company‘s facility in Sunset Park. (We told ya, it’s growing!)

In addition to a tour of the space, the event will include food from the restaurant’s menu like the warm grain and kale salad and a tasting of beers made by Jordan. Amid the shiny new brewing tanks, guests will be able to sample his session IPA, ESB and saison spiced with lemon zest, lime zest and ginger. Jordan will be at the event to speak about the beers, but he may or may not brew them when the place opens.
