Calling all local food and beverage businesses! The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for its first annual “Made in Brooklyn” awards.

To highlight the best of what the borough has to offer at its Annual Membership Meeting and Trade Show, the Chamber will honor makers from three sections: food and beverage (wink wink, nudge nudge), design and technology, and innovation. An additional fourth category is designated for a maker in one of the three previous categories that is a M/WBE-owned business.

To apply, businesses must be located in whole or in part in Brooklyn. More specifically, qualifying applicants must have some aspect of their production, product development, or product assembly originating in the borough. In case you were wondering, eligible businesses are welcome to self nominate.

A panel of independent judges who have been selected by the Chamber will evaluate submitted products. The winners will then have the exceptional opportunity to display in the “Made in Brooklyn” exhibit at the Annual Membership Meeting and Trade Show in October! Not too shabby, might we add.

The deadline is approaching, but there’s still time. All applications (which you can find here) are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013. For more info, check out the Chamber’s website.

We can’t wait to see who will be representing our local food and beverage community! Now get to it and apply before it’s too late.
