Coming up on the Events Calendar: Oysters on the Half Shell and Some Serious Cocktails

In case you’ve lost count, there is a grand total of 20 days left until what has been called the best cocktail event in New York City. Good Spirits is our seasonal cocktail pairing party and all bias aside, this year’s line-up of participants is top-notch. It’s all going down downstairs at 82 Mercer in SoHo on February 28th. From 6 to 9 pm, you’ll be privy to incredible food and beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and all it takes to partake is a $45 ticket, which can be bought here. In case you’re one of those types who likes to pre-plan what they’re going to eat, here’s a little taste of what’s in store for your palate:

Huckleberry Bar is bringing melted eggplant sandwiches with fennel confit and sundried tomatoes.  They’re teaming up with Michter’s, who will be serving up the Segala Salato, a cocktail made with Michter’s US*1 Single Barrel Rye, Cynar, Cocchi Vermouth Di Torrino, honey, Angostura and Peychaud’s bitters, a pinch of salt and a spritz of absinthe.

Maison Premiere is coming and they’re bringing Cornell Oysters from Hog Neck Bay on the half shell.  They’ll be paired with Bache Gabrielsen who will be connecting the Cognac Sazerac, which is made with Bache VSOP, Peychauds bitters, sugar, Absinthe rinse with a lemon twist.
