BRC Kids’ Halloween Party & Parade and (Grownups’) Halloween Bash, October 31
Bring your little ones, (in costume, of course!), to Brooklyn Roasting Company for an afternoon of family-friendly Halloween fun. There will be a jack-o’-lantern story time, live music by Preschool of Rock, free hot chocolate and maple milk, and a costume parade around DUMBO. The costume contest winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Flying Squirrel Baby Store. Later that night, not-so-little monsters are invited to BRC for free “boos” and beer, apple bobbing, and dancing till midnight. Come in costume—the best dressed attendee will receive a month of free coffee.

BOOshwick at Brooklyn Cider House, October 31
Bushwick’s favorite combination cidery, bar, and restaurant celebrates all things spooky with scary movies, (showing in the Taproom from 6pm), Halloween decorations, and limited edition drinks. Enjoy a frozen Spiced Pumpkin Chai-tini, or a mulled apple cider spiked with the drinker’s choice of “poison.” From noon till closing at 10 pm, anyone in costume will be treated to a cider catch from one the 80-year-old cider barrels, with any purchase. If you’d like to dine on more than just Halloween candy, the Cider House serves plenty of hearty fare, like steaks, burgers, tacos, and charcuterie plates

Gertie x Scribe Winery, November 7
Gertie diner and restaurant hosts Scribe, a Sonoma Valley winery run by fourth-generation Californian farmers and brothers Andrew and Adam Mariani. The Marianis use non-interventionist methods to produce unique wines deeply influenced by their land, a vineyard site since Sonoma’s pre-Prohibition days. They’ll be taking over Gertie’s wine list for the evening with their fall release wines, including the 2017 Scribe Skin Fermented Chardonnay and the 2019 Scribe Nouveau of Pinot Noir alongside a special dinner menu from Gertie.
