Feeds to Follow: Our Favorite Specialty Grocers

Where to go for great grub and locally made products.

In the spirit of fostering both virtual and real-life exploration, we’re bringing you Instagram accounts you can follow every week—whether that’s to make a meal, find a new shop or have a fun night out. This week, some of our favorite small specialty grocers who will make sure you know about all the coolest new products they’re stocking.

BKLYN Larder

For those looking to create an overflowing plate of meats and cheeses for the holidays or find a new sweet treat, look no further.

Riverdel

If meat isn’t really your thing, you can still do a bang-up job on a cheese plate with help from Riverdel, Brooklyn’s premier purveyor of fine nut-based cheeses. They’ve also got the pasta, sauces and snacks to help you get through any holiday stress.

The Greene Grape

This Fort Greene shop is the only reliable source of Barry’s Tempeh in Brooklyn and there’s a wonderful connected wine and spirits spot right next door, thus it has a special place in my heart. And of course, its other charms: the chocolate selection is top-notch; the baking section is well-stocked; and you can be assured that all the best artisanal sauces being made in our fair city are on the shelves.

Perelandra

Perelandra is one of the borough’s first natural foods shops that continues to break new ground, stocking all the latest and greatest vegan products that aren’t made with questionable ingredients.
