VOTE: Help Us Choose the Cover for Our Travel Issue

New season, new issue… but just one thing: we need a cover! Help us decide by choosing from these images from our upcoming travel edition.

We’re putting the finishing touches on our annual travel edition that’s set to hit stands in a few weeks. You can expect stories from near and far including roundups of on online startups that help tourists eat like a local, tales of traveling tea experts, glimpses at traditional Iranian meals and much more.

But it won’t be ready until we have a cover, and that’s where we need your help. See our options below, cast your vote and spread the word in support of your favorite photo. We reserve the right to make the final call, but put a lot of weight on what our readers (you) have to say.

Starting with the tea cups and scrolling to the right in the gallery above,

1. Bellocq Tea Atelier: The beautiful headquarters of this internationally beloved tea blender are right in Greenpoint. Shown are teas or blends sourced from around the world, photographed by our photo editor Vicky Wasik.

2. Sabzi khordan: This is a traditional part of Iranian meals, typically a mix of fresh vegetables and herbs. Here it’s shown with feta sprinkled with whole spices and torn sheets of lavash, as photographed by Lauren Volo and prepared by cookbook author and Williamsburg resident Louisa Shafia, who wrote about her first trip ever to Iran to visit family.

3. Bellocq Tea Atelier: Another image from the Greenpoint tea blenders by Vicky Wasik, this time from a tea service set up for display.

4. Taiwanese dried radish omelet: Photographed by Lauren Volo and prepared by author and blogger Cathy Erway, who wrote about a research trip to Taipai she took for her forthcoming Taiwanese cookbook to be released next year.

5. Taiwanese braised clams with loofah squash: (Or what’s left of them!) Photographed by Lauren Volo and prepared by author and blogger Cathy Erway.

6. Still life in author Louisa Shafia’s kitchen: Photographed by Lauren Volo during a Persian food photo shoot to accompany Shafia’s story about traveling to Iran.
