From internet-enabled turkey tips from a live chat with one of the city’s top chefs (see below) to a celebration of our current favorite quaff (apple-based spirits) over at Brooklyn Oenology, the wine shop we profiled this year, here are a couple of events going on around town that we think you’ll enjoy.
Be sure to check out the food events calendar our colleagues over at Edible Manhattan keep for more suggestions.
APPLE FEST AT BROOKLYN OENOLOGY– Some say that 11/11/11 is the luckiest date in 1,000 years. Celebrate it with some apples at the Brooklyn Oenology Winery in Williamsburg! From 6 p.m. to midnight on November 11, there will be Doc’s Draft Hard Apple Cider, Cornelius’ Applejack, Eve’s Autumn’s Gold Cider, Wolffer’s Apple Wine, Hot Spiced Cider, and or course, the full line of Brooklyn Oenology and other local wines. Apple pie à la mode will also be available for purchase, and be prepared to play a round of the always popular game, Apples-to-Apples. Call Brooklyn Oenology for more details at (718) 599-1259.
TURKEY TIPS LIVE CHAT – Have Chef Alfred Portale of Gotham Bar and Grill teach you everything there is to know about Greenmarket inspired Thanksgiving cooking, just in time for the holidays. On November 22, from 2 to 4 p.m., join Edible Manhattan and Gotham Bar and Grill for a live Q&A on our Facebook page. Chef Portale will be there to answer your questions right then and there!
