From our organizers:
Making pasta from scratch is intimidating. So is making new friends. But making pasta with new friends? Doesn’t sound so bad now, does it?
Pasta is all about versatility: It literally tastes good with anything, is made with two humble ingredients, and exists in hundreds of forms. From strozzapreti to agnolotti, the pastabilities are endless.
Join pineapple NY at Brooklyn Kitchen for our very first hands-on workshop, where we will learn how to make our own pasta from Pasta Social Club’s founder Meryl Feinstein, in partnership with Bronwen Kinzler-Britton, both formerly on the pasta production team at Misi. Together, we’ll also chat about the contemplative precision of handmade pasta, why perfect-looking food is mostly overrated, and how cooking together builds community better than anything else. Oh, and by “hands-on” we mean hands sprinkling, kneading, rolling, shaping, and ultimately, eating.
After all the work has been done, chefs Meryl and Bronwen will cook up our creations — aggressively al dente, always — in their homemade sauces using Mutti tomatoes, Italy’s #1 brand. Then it’s twirl-and-taste time.
We’ll also have women-powered Italian eats provided by Caviar to complete the feast!
