From the organizers:
We love nothing more than using our studio and we’re excited to take a different angle with our Kitchen Art Class.
Taking inspiration from the great Dutch masters to Cezanne we will explore the wiles of still life. Cook Space is not just a kitchen and dining room~it is a stage and platform to bond with food. Instead of “you are what you eat” we will paint what we eat!
The Kitchen Art Class will begin with creating centerpieces that will combine kitchen materials and food, from this still life we will explore concepts for composition, color theory and talk about and show examples of food as a favorite subject to paint for artists throughout time. We will sketch and then move on to free style open painting.
The class will be led by Artist Jean Rim and Cook Space founder (and fellow painter) Michelle Mannix
The class will focus on watercolor and pastels and their various techniques to get your palette wet. Please join us for this feast of visuals.
Watercolors, brushes and paper supplies will be provided along with some tasty bites to fuel your creative juices!
