According to the organizers:
On Thursday, April 6th, Citymeals on Wheels and its Young Professional Committee will host the first YP signature event “Don’t…Eat…’Til Brooklyn.” The night will raise money for the preparation and delivery of meals to New York City’s homebound elderly in all five boroughs.
This special party will be full of delicious eats from both Manhattan and Brooklyn, including Virginia’s, Birds & Bubbles, Talde, Huertas, Rock Center Café, Sprinkles and several food trucks. Raj Vaidya, Head Sommelier at DANIEL, and several other top sommeliers in the city will be selecting wine for the bash while bartenders shake up creative cocktails to accompany the music and dancing. Citymeals’ Williamsburg warehouse will be decked out for the occasion, while partygoers bid on silent auction items.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event will help Citymeals on Wheels provide a continuous lifeline of nourishing meals and vital companionship to New York City’s homebound elderly.Citymeals prepares and delivers over 2 million weekend, holiday and emergency meals for more than 18,000 of our frail aged neighbors each year. Last year, over 15,000 individuals volunteered nearly 72,000 hours of their time.
