Getting Oktoberfest feels? Come to learn the fundamentals of anaerobic fermenting, meet your new friend lactobacillus, and get your hands salty starting up your own batch! Pick up this knowledge all from a savvy Pennsylvania girl who deeply knows the ways of sauerkraut.
Each student will learn three different ways to make kraut (caraway + juniper, dolce with apple, beet + red cabbage) and create their own jar to take home to enjoy later. Plus, in the spirit of Oktoberfest, we’ll share a meal of local polish kielbasa smothered in ferments, mustard, and drink seasonal beer (yes, for breakfast-ish.)
