From the organizers:
Emma’s Torch and Our Name Is Farm are thrilled to invite you to celebrate our most recent graduates, as they complete their culinary training with Emma’s Torch and embark on their careers, with a delicious multi-course dinner. We will be joined by guests chefs Lior Lev Sercarz and Alex Raij. All proceeds benefit Emma’s Torch, empowering refugees through culinary training.
Chef Lior Lev Sercarz is the chef and owner of La Boite, a destination spice shop in New York City. After attending culinary school in France, he worked for multiple Michelin-starred chefs before turning to his true passion: helping cooks everywhere embrace new flavors.
Chef Alex Raij is the person that turned New York City diners on to regional Spanish cuisine. Her Manhattan restaurants El Quinto Pino and Txikito focus on the Basque region, while her Brooklyn cafe, La Vara, explores the Moorish and Jewish influences on Spanish cuisine. Alex runs these restaurants together with her husband Eder Montero.
Our Name Is Farm: We are a data oriented digital and experiential media production and marketing company that works with sustainable and good food growers, producers, markets and communities to define, activate and grow their brands. We are New York City based, but work nationally to support a shared mission of increasing access to and information about local, wholesome food.
Emma’s Torch: We are a non-profit social enterprise that provies culinary training and job placements services to refugees in New York City.
