Yes, it’s November, but February will be here faster than you can say, “Give me a hot toddy,” and that means one thing: Good Spirits, our annual cocktail pairing event, is coming soon.

Readers might recall the piece we did two summers ago on the fledging distillery boom in our borough. (It was called “The Whiskey Rebellion.”) Flash-forward two years and we’ve actually lost count of the number of small-batch, craft-liquor producers that are creating vodka, whiskey, and gin right under our noses, but only one, as far as we know, has it’s very own bar. We highlighted both the distillery and The Shanty in our current NY1 segment, so be sure to watch to learn more about the two unique gins they now have on the market.

Get Ready for Good Spirits on February 28: Our Cocktail Party Pairings Revealed

Did you buy your ticket to Edible’s Good Spirits event yet? No?!? Act fast before it’s last call on your entry to over 50 vendors and samples from some of the area’s best restaurants and distillers. Tickets are only $45 and include dishes and cocktails from folks like Velseka Bowery, who will be serving Pierogies filled with Vermont Cheddar Cheese, Maple Glazed Bacon and Potato and pairing it with “The Golden Klenovka,” a cocktail made with Vermont Gold Vodka, maple syrup, organic black tea and a splash of club soda.

From 6:30 to 9 pm at 632Below, a group of experts (including Edible’s own publisher Brian Halweil) will predict what will happen and call for what should happen with a panel discussion and Q&A.
