“In this talk, we’ll look at some of the best examples and pursuits in growing a diversity of highly nutritious healthy foods within and near to high density urban centers around the world.

Some of the topics covered will include:

  • Rooftop gardens and farms
  • Integrating rain water, pollinators, fruit trees, nuts and berries in city landscapes
  • Creating wild habitat while growing medicinal and culinary herbs
  • Intensive greenhouse systems, including aquaponics and mushrooms
  • Methods of composting, producing energy and hot water independence and fertilizing in Urban settings while also creating inner city green jobs and greater food security
  • Turning wastes into high quality resources

Part 1 will examine Shanghai, Paris, Stockholm, and Berlin, and can be taken in conjunction with Part 2 on May 13 or on its own.”
