From our organizers:
Happy Family Night Market is a first of its kind event that celebrates Asian American heritage through the lens of food. Inspired by the vibrant open air bazaars in Asia and the multicultural evolution of America, our event aims to explore Asian American narratives through food, art, films, and panels.
Panel discussions will explore topics on Asian American Fermentation, Tiger Mom & Asian Fetishes: Gender & Tradition at the Table, From Tikka Masala to Ayurveda: Perspectives on Indian American Cuisine and Hybridized Chinese Food in History and Today with renowned writers, chefs, and historians throughout the afternoon.
We hope to gather and engage a broad audience of curious eaters and cooks to share stories over good food and conversation. By embracing curiosity, diversity, and passion for Asian American cuisine, Happy Family Night Market aims to be a inclusive and creative platform for all.
