Join us for an Ultra-Premium Oyster Experience! The day will include 12 Ultra-Premium East & West Coast Oyster Varieties, shucked live & served raw, on the half shell. The extraordinary collection of oysters will be curated by Kevin Joseph, founder of The OysterHood, New York Oyster Week and Miami Oyster Week.Guests will forage from station to station sampling the dozen varieties dressed with fine mignonettes. Kevin & Staff will be offering Shucking Lessons as well. One Hotel Brooklyn Bridge will provide bites and paired beer (lovingly provided by Brooklyn Brewery) and wine will round out the afternoon.
Live music will be provided by the acclaimed Deedle Deedle Dee’s. The Billion Oyster Project and the Conservancy’s education team will be on hand to provide information on the Hudson River estuary, the lifecycle of east coast oysters, and oyster shell recycling. The 20,000 oyster shells recycled from this date will result, one day, in as many as 400,000 adult oysters restored into New York Harbor filtering 20 million gallons of water a day or 7.3 Billion gallons a year.
