At Edible Escape–our travel tasting party next month–we plan to wow your tastebuds with some worldly flavors. We’ve got a killer lineup, including food from Ukraine, olive oil from Spain, wines from Portugal, high-class Italian fare and so much more. But as much as we love to travel the world with our forks at the ready, we don’t want to overlook the bounty of flavor here at home.
If you’re like us, weather this great gives us the itch to dine outdoors. On August 10th we’re heading out to the East End for a night of ethnic eats and local beer and wines, all served a la food truck.
We’re gearing up now for a night of ethnic eats and local beer and wines on the East End, all served a la food truck. Join us as we stuff ourselves with everything from hibachi shrimp and local fish tacos to Italian pastries.
They say the East End is short on ethnic eats. Well, on August 10, we plan to change that when Edible East End presents the Great Food Truck Derby, in conjunction with the Hayground School in Bridgehampton.
Once again the wineries, chefs and artists of eastern Long Island is thinking of you and what you’re going to do in the depths of winter. For the next five weekends the East End–and a few points closer to home–are throwing Winterfest, a collaborative,cross-cultural effort to lure you out East. Sure, the Hudson Valley has those foothills, but this semi-agrarian vacation-land shares our very own land mass, and is a short trip up the Sunrise Highway or the LIE from Atlantic Ave. Why not spend a chilly day warming up with local wine? Snuggle up in front of a crackling fireplace at a quiet Hamptons bed-and-breakfast? Listen to jazz with a view of the vineyards? Or find some great deals on true farm-to-table restaurant meals? Welcome to Winterfest.
Long Island’s second annual HARVEST fest includes a series of 10-mile dinners: Six meals at six different beautiful homes on the East End, each hosted by a winery and a local chef. (There’s also a not-to-be-missed Festival Tasting on September 17 featuring 20 restaurants and as many wineries.)
Our guide to spectacular sipping on Long Island’s East End.
