Eat Great Food and Support Local Farm Education with #farm2nabe

Farm to Neighborhood Last chance to join #farm2nabe and Dine–Support–Mingle locally, the final in a three-part chef’s series taking place June 18, 5–7pm, at Putnam’s in Clinton Hill. Proceeds go to support local farm education initiatives by City Growers and PS 20 Farms for neighborhood schools.

At last week’s lively get-together at Lulu & Po, guests enjoyed the happy combining of Chef Matt+Brooklyn Grange+Anthony Nappa Wines. The result was an array of savory offerings, including Møsefund Farm pork terrine with pickled local rhubarb; Feather Ridge Farm eggs, deviled with smoked paprika; Brooklyn Grange “minutina” salad greens with walnuts and goat cheese; Phillips Farm fresh radishes; and lightly grilled asparagus delicately dressed with lemon and pecorino—all accompanied by regional favorite Nappa’s white pinot noir and cabernet franc. The cozy quarters made getting to know your neighbor inevitable.

Spearheaded by Farm-to-Neighborhood matchmakers MARP (Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership), the series aims to link all elements of the local food chain—grower, vendor, preparer, enjoyer (…teacher, new grower)—in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. More programming on the horizon, stay tuned!
