From the organizers:
Take a tour of Tinyfield Roofhop Farm and learn how to grow tasty microgreens at home! Participants will learn how to propagate their own micro greens and micro herbs and take home a seed packet to begin growing at home.
Microgreens are easy to grow at home and we’ll show you what tools you need to become microgreen growers. Micros are the young seedlings of immature plants that are harvested, depending on variety, 1 to 3 weeks after germination. They are small greens that are older than sprouts and younger than baby greens, and are incredibly tender and often vibrant.
Since they are harvested young, microgreens have intense flavor of the plant (i.e. kale or radishes) but contain up to 40 times more nutrients than their fully grown counterparts. Micros are a great addition to sandwiches and salads and help to get you to the daily amount of vitamins and minerals needed in your every day diet. Come grow with us!
