Looking at where our team has been going out the past few weeks, there’s a lot of dough. Pastries reign supreme and pizza ranks right up there with the best of them. We love our seasonal vegetables though, and relish even the smallest amount of green during these dark months. From Greenpoint to Sunset Park by way of the East Village, here’s where we’re eating and drinking this month:

I go out of my way for this place. Right when my mid-day sugar crash peaks, this cozy English teahouse–like bakery in Williamsburg (with another location in Greenpoint) picks me right up. They offer a wide array of delicious pastries and breads served alongside breakfast and lunch menus. I usually pick up a chocolate chip hazelnut cookie with rosemary or their salted cacao nib cookie. —Alexandra Milak

Though very much a part of Brooklyn’s thriving bakeshop landscape, Colson Patisserie was born in Belgium. It’s the life’s work of baking legend Hubert Colson, who opened the first Colson Patisserie nearly three decades ago in Mons. Colson’s baked goods are an absolute delight, from the legendary financiers to the award-winning croissants to the fresh-baked breads (also available for sandwiches). There is minimal distinction between the dining room, bar and kitchen at the Finch. Walk into the ground floor of this Clinton Hill Michelin-starred restaurant and you’ll enter all three at once. This seamless transparency is Blue Hill, Gramercy Tavern and Roberta’s veteran Gabe McMackin’s intention. As chef/owner, he welcomes guests to observe and participate in the entire restaurant spectacle while serving top-quality seasonal ingredients, masterfully prepared. Go for their reasonably priced small plates and stay for the show. —Ariel Lauren Wilson

Is there anything more romantic than a fresh-out-the-oven grandma pie with beautiful little pepperoni slices curling up at the edges? No, no there is not. Add to that the perfect candlelight, killer cocktails and a million cute little bars in the area to choose from if you decide you can tolerate your date for another drink (I love Blackbird or the Wayland) and you’ve found youself a date night worth telling the kids about — or just an excellent meal if it turns out you’re not into round two. —Talia Ralph

With the addition of a tea salon, Williamsburg yoga pioneer Greenhouse Holistic has expanded its urban spa offerings to include fresh juices, kale salads, wholesome frittatas, samosas and muffins, vegan soups and desserts that accommodate any food restriction imaginable while delivering big on taste. A massive range of SerendipiTea teas and a full gamut of fresh juices will satisfy any thirst worked up prior. The tea salon comes to Williamsburg courtesy of local Johnson & Wales–trained chef Tai Chopping, who made her NYC debut as pastry chef at Del Posto when it opened in 2005. Open 7 days. —Carrington Morris
