It’s awards season for Edible Communities and although no one will be showing up in pearl dresses, at least one nominee features oysters. The Eddy Awards recognize excellent writing and editing among more than 80 different local publications from the Silicon Valley to south Florida. Finalists were selected from 1,200 entries in 23 categories, and we’re thrilled to have our websites and stories recognized by an amazing panel of judges. We’d love it if you’d vote for us (up to once per day if you’re really enthusiastic) between now and March 15. All it takes is one click — check out our nominations below!

Edible Brooklyn received nods for best website and best use of social media. Our feature article on Four & Twenty Blackbirds proved a standout for the judges, and Amy Zavatto’s in-depth look at New York’s craft spirits boom is applauded for being “thoroughly reported and engagingly writen.”

Edible Manhattan received a nod for best use of social media. Our story on People’s Pops melted your hearts, and two of our covers caught the judges’ eye. If you haven’t seen Scott Gordon Bleicher’s photographs of Harlem Shambles, now’s your chance — he’s being applauded for his educational yet fun compositional style.

Four entries from Edible Long Island also made the cut for best drink recipe feature, use of video, chef feature and preserving recipe feature (did you know that you can harvest maple syrup on Long Island?). Our sister magazine Edible East End also brought home the bacon with four nominations including best issue cover, use of video, website and healthful recipe feature.

We couldn’t be more proud of our titles! Check out all the other wonderful nominees and see what’s happening in local food across the country. Stay tuned for the Eddy winner announcements in a few weeks!
